Leafs vs Devils: Mikheyev Wrist Gets Sliced

Toronto Maple Leafs' Ilya Mikheyev ran into New Jersey Devils' Jesper Bratt and as he fell the skate of Bratt swung up to cut Mikheyev's wrist. Not for nothing, Ilya made a nice pass to maintain possession then instantly dashed for the bench.

Doctors at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey repaired an artery and tendons that were severed. Ilya is expected to make a full recovery but will miss three months minimum, and the Maple Leafs said a timetable will become clearer at that point.

"The Toronto Maple Leafs and our medical team would like to thank the New Jersey Devils and their medical staff and the University Hospital's staff and hand & vascular surgery team for their urgent care," the team said.
